Basketball Game Preview: Osceola Warriors vs. Gibbs Gladiators

Osceola hasn't had much luck against Gibbs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Osceola Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Gibbs Gladiators at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Osceola was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-55 to Northside Christian. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 425th).

Meanwhile, Gibbs waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 68-62 W over the Yellow Jackets.

Gibbs' win came from a few key players Osceola will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Daniels, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathis Roberts, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points.

Gibbs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Osceola was taken down by Gibbs 78-39 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Osceola was down 43-17.
