Baseball Game Preview: Tradition Prep Pirates vs. Highland Park Giants

The Tradition Prep Pirates will face off against the Highland Park Giants at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Tradition Prep nor Highland Park posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Friday, Tradition Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Bayside and fell 2-1.

Pablo Almonte put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Almonte wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aliet Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Highland Park came up short against Celebration on Wednesday and fell 5-2. The Giants have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tradition Prep now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Highland Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.
