Softball Recap: Johnson's Run of Nine Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against LEE last Tuesday, Johnson came back down to earth. Johnson took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Churchill Chargers on Friday. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Johnson's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Churchill, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Johnson Jaguars duke it out with Clark Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson's pitchers better be ready for this one: Clark has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Churchill, they will take on LEE at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LEE has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.67 runs per game on average), something Churchill will no doubt try to take advantage of.
