Volleyball Recap: Pueblo East Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Pueblo East challenged Falcon on Saturday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Pueblo East started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-23.

Kaiya Abe was the offensive standout of the match as she had 18 assists and six digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Pueblo East's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Pueblo East will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Falcon, they will be playing at home against Vista Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
