There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Picayune got a 62 - 3 win over West Harrison last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jortin Raine. Raine earned two touchdowns and 224 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Raine as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Lutcher claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder 12 rungs after its game against Dutchtown. Lutcher took its contest against Dutchtown by a conclusive 34 - 6 score. One star in particular for Lutcher was senior Rondell Mealey, who ran for 105 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Jesuit (4th in the power rankings) and John Curtis Christian (1st). This will be the second consecutive road game for John Curtis Christian. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out which team fails to repeat its success.
