Basketball Recap: Riverfield Academy Comes Up Short

Riverfield Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Claiborne Academy Rebels. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Claiborne Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cade Smith, who posted seven points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Feazell, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Riverfield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Claiborne Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Riverfield Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Claiborne Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 62-51 defeat against West Side Christian on the 24th.
