Soccer Recap: Punxsutawney Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Punxsutawney after they claimed the first score on Tuesday, but it was Karns City who ended up claiming the real prize. The Chucks took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gremlins. The loss continues a trend for Punxsutawney in their meetings with Karns City: they've now lost seven in a row.

Punxsutawney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Karns City, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Punxsutawney and Karns City will both be playing Redbank Valley the next time they take the pitch. The Gremlins will head out to face the Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Chucks will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on September 3.
