Volleyball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Goessel Bluebirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11.

Shaliah Ensley paced Marion's offense, picking up six kills. Ensley also shared the team's lead in assists with Hailey Harshman: they picked up seven each.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Goessel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Marion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Canton-Galva on the 4th. As for Goessel, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Little River on the 4th.
