Baseball Recap: Scottsdale Christian Academy Triumphs

The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Luke Troxell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Scottsdale Christian Academy let Dylan Tims and Trevor Green run wild. Tims went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Green went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Green a new career-high.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's record now sits at 14-6. As for Glendale Prep Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3.

Coming up, Scottsdale Christian Academy will square off against Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. Glendale Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
