Basketball Recap: Riverton Gets the Win

Riverton won the last time they faced Fremont and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Riverton Silverwolves snuck past the Fremont Silverwolves with a 62-57 victory.

When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, don't look at Easton Duft. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 18 on his way to 30 points and three steals. That was a full 52.6% of Fremont's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Hancock, who had seven points.

Riverton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Riverton and Fremont could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings. Riverton (ranked 41st) will meet Bingham (ranked eighth) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fremont (ranked 66th) will meet Davis (ranked second) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
