Basketball Game Preview: Leflore County Tigers vs. Simmons Blue Devils

Leflore County and Simmons are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Leflore County Tigers will get right back to it and host the Simmons Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Leflore County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kosciusko just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Whippets by a score of 60-57.

Meanwhile, Simmons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 73-63 to Humphreys County. One positive for the Blue Devils, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Leflore County will have to contain Prentavis Madison as he made an impact in Simmons' last game. He went 14 of 27 on his way to 31 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Madison is now averaging an impressive 18.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lebron Morris, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Leflore County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Leflore County beat Simmons 63-56 when the teams last played last Tuesday. Will Leflore County repeat their success, or does Simmons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
