Baseball Game Preview: Nathan Hale Raiders vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Nathan Hale Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Roosevelt Roughriders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nathan Hale will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Nathan Hale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Rainier Beach on Monday as they made off with a 37-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kai Drohan was a standout: he scored five runs while getting on base in six of his seven plate appearances. He also got two hits, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eliot Jennings, who went 3-for-6 with four runs and five RBI.

Nathan Hale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lincoln.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Nathan Hale, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.

Nathan Hale skirted past Roosevelt 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
