Baseball Recap: St. Croix Falls Takes a Loss

If St. Croix Falls was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Chetek-Weyerhaeuser on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints fell just short of the Spooner Rails by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rails apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Caden Folkestad was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Brodie Allram was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

St. Croix Falls has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Spooner, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
