Softball Recap: Webster Schroeder Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Webster Thomas

Webster Schroeder faced Webster Thomas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Warriors fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 5-0.

Liana DeValder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Webster Schroeder saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julianna Frumusa, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
