Preview: Glenbard South Raiders vs. Elgin Maroons
Glenbard South is 4-0 against Elgin since August of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Glenbard South Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Elgin Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Glenbard South unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 28-14 bruising from Glenbard East.
Glenbard South's loss came about despite a quality game from Michael Champagne, who threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Elgin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 26-6 walloping at the hands of Larkin.
Having lost for the first time this season, Glenbard South fell to 7-1. As for Elgin, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Glenbard South took their win against Elgin in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 43-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenbard South since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
