Preview: Choctaw County Chargers vs. Holly Springs Hawks
After two games on the road, Choctaw County is heading back home. They will take on the Holly Springs Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holly Springs took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Choctaw County, who comes in off a win.
Even though East Webster scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Choctaw County still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Choctaw County made off with a 59-58 win over East Webster. That's two games straight that Choctaw County has won by exactly one point.
It was another big night for Caleb Cunningham, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jakarius Weaver, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holly Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 59-53 to Independence.
Choctaw County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Holly Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.
