Basketball Recap: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Fort Thomas Apaches

The Joseph City Wildcats lost against the Fort Thomas Apaches two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Joseph City took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Apaches. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Joseph City in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Joseph City still got an impressive performance from Cort Miller, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jared Layden, who scored 12 points.

Damare Dosela continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fort Thomas, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dosela has scored all season. Channing Wilson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four steals.

Joseph City's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-10. As for Fort Thomas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Joseph City and the Rams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Antelope is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Fort Thomas, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Centurions at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
