Recap: Apache Junction Prospectors vs. Dysart Demons
The Apache Junction Prospectors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 86-42 defeat at the hands of Dysart. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apache Junction in their matchups with Dysart: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Prospectors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conor Wirries, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Adam, who scored 13 points.
Nigel Anderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dysart, scoring 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zane Connelly, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Apache Junction's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-12. As for Dysart, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Apache Junction and Vista Grande will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Vista Grande focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Dysart, Dysart and Cortez will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cortez has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 273 points over their last four matchups.
