 After a string of nine wins, the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen's's good fortune finally ran out  on Monday. They fell to Boyd Christian  55-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Franklin Road Christian came into the  game with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings  (they are ranked 77th, while Boyd Christian is ranked 221st).
 Franklin Road Christian lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Lakelyn Dempsey, who  scored nine points along with six  rebounds and five  steals. Dempsey has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last six times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Presley Applegate, who  scored 11 points along with six  rebounds.
 Franklin Road Christian's loss  ended  a  14-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 12-2. As for Boyd Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
 Franklin Road Christian won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Riverside Christian Academy at 6:00  p.m.  on December 19th. Boyd Christian won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against Lancaster Christian Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on December 19th. Lancaster Christian Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
