Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss

Mount Vernon played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the American Prep WV Eagles 80-30. The Patriots have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Mount Vernon still got an impressive performance from Alex Song, who posted 11 points. Andre Hernandez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for American Prep WV, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Vernon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dugway at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dugway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for American Prep WV, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the American Prep WV Eagles duke it out with the Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in American Prep WV's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
