Chavez came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the North Hollywood Huskies by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Chavez had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 25-11.

Chavez's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for North Hollywood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Chavez and North Hollywood will both be playing Monroe the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Huskies will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
