Basketball Recap: Brandtley Hack's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gretna over Gretna East

Gretna was the 53-42 winner over Gretna East when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell just short of the Griffins by a score of 55-52 on Friday.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandtley Hack, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Treven Wilkins, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 17 points.

Drayke Brown had an outrageously good game for Gretna East as he shot 53% from the field on his way to 21 points and six boards. Brown's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Winterboer, who posted nine points.

Gretna's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gretna East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Gretna has already played their next matchup, a 79-46 defeat against Omaha Westside on the 13th. As for Gretna East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-56 loss against Bellevue West on the 13th.
