Football Recap: Strake Jesuit's Winning Streak Snapped at Nine Games + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Strake Jesuit couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 55-16 loss at the hands of the Dickinson Gators on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Gators are ranked 31st).

Strake Jesuit's loss came despite strong showings from Cannon Aramburo and John Hebert. Aramburo picked up 27 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Hebert rushed for 142 yards. Hebert's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 26th straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Kaileb Peterson had a dynamite game For Dickinson., rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 51 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Peterson has posted since back in November of 2024. Lorenzo Aguirre was another key player, throwing for 151 yards and three TDs.

The defeat snapped Strake Jesuit's winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 10-3 record. As for Dickinson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Strake Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dickinson, they will take on North Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
