Volleyball Recap: Flagler's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After flying high against Weldon Valley on Friday, Flagler came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Cougars on Tuesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Burlington scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Rylie Berry paced Flagler's offense, picking up 21 kills. Berry got some help from Lexi Witt and her 20 assists. Witt also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sydnie Berry, each putting up two.

Flagler's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Burlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Flagler has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Idalia on the 1st. As for Burlington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Holyoke on the 31st.
