Jefferson had lost six straight at home, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-20 to make it seven. They lost  12-1 to the Martin Luther Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  19-11  on Saturday.
  Julio Soto was cooking despite his team's loss,   going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  stolen bases. Another player making a difference was  Ryan Bauer, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
As for Martin Luther, the  victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 11 matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
On Martin Luther's side,  Jovani Serrano was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Serrano was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Brendan Scheel and  Jady Colome did most of the damage at the plate:  Scheel  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  double, while  Colome  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.  Beckett Sabanosh was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Looking ahead, Jefferson is taking a road trip to  face off against Harlem  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Martin Luther, they will head out to  take on St. Thomas More  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 8.3  runs per game this season.
