Volleyball Recap: Gateway Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gateway waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Freedom Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

While Gateway won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Freedom saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sarah Silva had nine digs and one assist. Camily Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Gateway's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Freedom, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Gateway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Sebastian River on the 4th. As for Freedom, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Cypress Creek on the 4th.
