Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Gateway's Third in Last Four Outings

Gateway won the last time they faced Freedom and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Patriots.

While Gateway won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Freedom saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sarah Silva had nine digs and one assist. Camily Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Gateway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Freedom, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-20.

Gateway has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Sebastian River on the 4th. As for Freedom, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Cypress Creek on the 4th.
