Borah had to endure an eight-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kuna Kavemen on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in August.
While Borah might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Kuna scored at least 12 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 20-25, 15-12.
Gena Fink paced Borah's offense, picking up 18 kills. Fink got some help from Emma McKinney and her 33 assists. Fink was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Defeat or not, Kuna got some senior leadership from Ruby Rausch and Gracen Johnson. Rausch had 13 digs and five aces, while Johnson had 12 digs. Emma Lovelady also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Borah's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Kuna, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
