Baseball Recap: Francis Parker Takes a Loss

Francis Parker had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-11-1 to make it six. They came up short against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles, falling 16-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Monday.

Spencer Perry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Ryan Woods also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Santa Fe Christian, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Santa Fe Christian's side, they got a great performance from Evan Filipovic as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Kam Lohse and Kyle Plasman did most of the damage at the plate: Lohse went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Plasman went 2-for-5 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Lohse a new career-high. Andrew Hidy was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Santa Fe Christian beat Francis Parker by a score of 11-7 on Friday.
