Soccer Recap: Chicago Christian Comes Up Short

Chicago Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Timothy Christian Trojans, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Chicago Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Timothy Christian are ranked 139th).

Chicago Christian was without their leading scorer, Briana Sitko, in Thursday's game. With Sitko sidelined, the Knights had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Bella Mitre (43), Caroline Conroy (34), and Faith Seils (50). The trio had averaged 17.1, 17.5, and 16.9 minutes respectively before Thursday's match.

Chicago Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Timothy Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-2.
