Soccer Recap: Maryville Comes Up Short

Maryville entered their game against Johnston on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Spoofhounds took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Maryville of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Maryville and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Johnston, the win keeps they at an undefeated 3-0-1.

Maryville wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Woodward-Granger on the 11th. As for Johnston, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Roosevelt on the 14th.
