Recap: Seward Seahawks vs. Ninilchik Wolverines
Even though the Ninilchik Wolverines scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Seward Seahawks still came out on top. Seward walked away with a 65-55 win over Ninilchik. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seward.
Despite the loss, Ninilchik still got an impressive performance from Kade McCorison, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. Rowan Mahoney was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven steals.
Seward's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ninilchik, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seward will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nikiski at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, Ninilchik and Cook Inlet Academy will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th.
