Baseball Recap: Geneva Wins Going Away Against Penn Yan Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Geneva). They blew past the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs 13-3 on Wednesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Cayden Urbano was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Dorrington, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Geneva back to even at 2-2. As for Penn Yan Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Geneva will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
