Basketball Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Northfield Nighthawks
Evergreen played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Northfield Nighthawks 71-39. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Evergreen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elle Buenning went 5 for 12 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Buenning is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie McEvers, who posted nine points and five rebounds.
Northfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ana Baseman led the charge by going 6 of 7 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave Baseman a new career-high. Aliyah Herron was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and four steals.
Evergreen's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6. As for Northfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
