While St. John-Vianney's win against Shore Regional wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 9-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2018.

Matt Baczor looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nick Mirto was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Tyler Shpiro also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

St. John-Vianney has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Shore Regional, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Coming up, St. John-Vianney will take on Barnegat at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shore Regional, they will face off against Colts Neck at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
