Softball Recap: East Victorious

East's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Bishop Shanahan Eagles by a score of 4-1. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Ferri Ava made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Ava was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cross Ava, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Catanach Isabel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

East's record now sits at 8-6. As for Bishop Shanahan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

East didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-2 victory against Coatesville on the 25th. As for Bishop Shanahan, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-4 loss against Avon Grove on the 24th.
