Preview: Nipomo Titans vs. Righetti Warriors
Nipomo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Righetti Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Righetti took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Nipomo, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Nipomo earned a 34-21 victory over Paso Robles.
Blayne Lowry looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Teagan Campbell was in the mix as well, providing Nipomo with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Righetti's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 21-12 to Mission College Prep. While losing is never fun, Righetti can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Mission College Prep is ranked 220th).
Nipomo's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Righetti, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Nipomo came up short against Righetti in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 18-7. Thankfully for Nipomo, Brian Monighetti (who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
