Baseball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the James Clemens Jets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Jets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-10 loss on Saturday.

Preston Solomon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Yeager, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16. As for James Clemens, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence will challenge Buckhorn at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for James Clemens, they will face off against Sparkman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
