Gateway Christian extends home losing streak to five

Gateway Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 48-36 to Greenbrier Christian Academy. Gateway Christian has struggled against Greenbrier Christian Academy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Gateway Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evalyn Snider, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rime Lamrabet, who scored ten points.

Greenbrier Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Elizabeth Thome scored 18 points and Linda Hodge scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Hodge scored 15 or more points. Julia Buchanan was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Gateway Christian dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Gateway Christian will take on StoneBridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. StoneBridge's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so Gateway Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Hampton Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton Christian Academy will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
