Softball Recap: Pine Tree Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Pine Tree's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Sulphur Springs Wildcats on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Pine Tree saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Cunningham, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Pine Tree's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sulphur Springs, their record is now 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Tree will square off against Spring Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sulphur Springs, they will challenge Hughes Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
