Volleyball Recap: Jserra Catholic Starts off Right with Win over Stratford

JSerra Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Stratford Elks by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.

While JSerra Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-25.

Leading JSerra Catholic to victory were Madison Goodrich and Catherine Beadles. Goodrich had 14 digs and one assist, while Beadles had 27 assists and two aces. Beadles is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, JSerra Catholic and Stratford will both be playing Punahou the next time they take the court. The Elks will head out to face the Buff n' Blue at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
