Baseball Recap: Patton Panthers vs. Draughn Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Burke, Patton was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Draughn Wildcats a 6-0 shutout. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not much got past Cohen Christian, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Draughn off the board. Christian has become a key player for Patton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-2 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Trevor Throneburg was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Patton's record is now 5-2. As for Draughn, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Looking ahead, Patton will host Cherryville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Draughn will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers face off against the Ironmen, they'll take on Draughn again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
