Taos hadn't done well against Aztec recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Taos had just enough and edged out Aztec 4-3. For Taos, this counts as revenge for the 9-8 win Aztec walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Ricco Martinez tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christian Fresquez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Taos' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Aztec, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Taos didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-11 win against Bayfield on the 27th. As for Aztec, they have also already played their next game, an 8-6 victory against Durango on the 27th.
