Softball Recap: Laporte Takes a Loss

Laporte fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Blackduck on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Drakes by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Drakes: they've now lost nine in a row.

Laporte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Blackduck, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laporte will face off against Sebeka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blackduck, they will venture away from home to square off against Red Lake Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Drakes 1.7, the Eagles 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
