Baseball Game Preview: Madison Cubs vs. Lanesville Eagles

For the second straight game, Madison will face off against Lanesville. The Cubs will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Saturday, Madison beat Lanesville 5-2. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

For Lanesville's part, Dayton Campbell was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Campbell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

Campbell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nolyn Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Jeremy Guffey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lanesville's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
