Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Goodland's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Goodland hadn't done well against Cimarron recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cowboys never let the Bluejays get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Allison Cure made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alessa Rickard was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Dani Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Goodland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Goodland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Cimarron, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Goodland beat the Bluejays by a score of 9-0 later that day.
