Softball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They came up short against the Henry Clay Blue Devils, falling 21-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 18-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

As for Henry Clay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Henry Clay's part, the team relied heavily on Jillian Franco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave Franco a new career-high. Kyndal Brewster was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will venture away from home to take on Garrard County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Henry Clay, they will head out to square off against Scott County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
