Baseball Recap: Albion Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Albion waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Newfane Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-4 on Friday.

Gavin Boyce made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Nathan Gibson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He has become a key player for Albion: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-6 otherwise. William Plummer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Albion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Albion's record is now 5-6. As for Newfane, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Albion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newfane, they will venture away from home to challenge Akron at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
