Basketball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Monroe took on Bellarmine Prep on Tuesday. The Monroe Bearcats fell 55-42 to the Bellarmine Prep Lions.

Bellarmine Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Melina Petramalo, who posted 16 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Stella Marie Wiggins, who put up eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Bellarmine Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bellarmine Prep, they will challenge Eastside Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
