Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles vs. School Without Walls Penguins
Model Secondary School for the Deaf was the 37-34 winner over School Without Walls when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles fell 61-50 to the School Without Walls Penguins on Saturday.
School Without Walls found their leader in sophomore Tahkari Bates, who went 9 for 13 en route to 21 points plus two steals. What's more, Bates also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Chidiire Nwokwu, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points plus six rebounds and five assists.
Model Secondary School for the Deaf now has a losing record at 1-2. As for School Without Walls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Model Secondary School for the Deaf will head out to square off against Leonardtown at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for School Without Walls, they will head out on the road to face off against E.L. Haynes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
